The mission of the Salem-South Lyon District Library Board of Trustees is to uphold the trust, granted to us by our fellow citizens, as we provide financial direction, long-term strategic planning, advocacy and provide policies for the library while continuing our professional development.

PresidentKen Kneisel was born and raised in Brownhelm, Ohio and graduated from Firelands High School. He received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University. Ken and his wife, Lynn, have been residents of Salem Township since 1976. They have two children and four grandchildren. Ken is currently in his third term as a SSLDL trustee. Vice-PresidentDeborah (Debbie) Mroz has been a trustee since 2003 when she was asked to consider completing the partial term vacated by another trustee. She enjoyed the experience so much that she ran for re-election and has been a board member for 8 years. Debbie and her husband, Dave, have two children and have been residents of Salem Township for 22 years. Debbie has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University and finds that working with the library is a good fit for many of the skills she learned while working in the corporate world for 20 years. TreasurerW. David McNeill has had the pleasure of serving as the Treasurer of Salem-South Lyon District Library 2005. He has lived with his wife and two children in South Lyon since 1998. He left his position as a bank manager after 15 years with Charter One. He has a lifelong love of reading and has a degree in Literature from Eastern Michigan University. He is always looking for new things to learn and has recently been focused on Special Education Law. Click here for email |

SecretaryRobin White Fanning remembers going to her local village library (Hudson Falls, NY) at the age of four and being a faithful patron through her teenage years. Because of going to the library with her mother, friends, and later her own children, she realizes the importance it holds for the community. Robin has served on the SSLDL Board of Trustees since 2002. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from Clarkson University and has served in various leadership positions for Phi Mu Fraternity including National President. Robin enjoys spending time with her family, church, friends, and golden retriever – Cody. She loves fashion, shopping, reading, travel, camping, and crocheting. Click here for email |

TrusteeKim Ascher has served on the Salem-South Lyon District Library Board of Trustees since 2009. She is a Finance Manager at Ford Motor Company. Outside of work, Kim loves spending time with her family, reading, swimming, and “keeping up” with her daughters. TrusteeRebecca Kreisher joined the board of trustees in early 2012. A native of Crawfordsville, Indiana, she and her husband have lived in South Lyon since2004 and have one young daughter. Rebecca received her BA in English and Spanish from Earlham College and her JD from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University, Bloomington. TrusteeLinda Hamilton has lived in Salem Township for many years. She and her husband are involved in the family dairy farm which has operated since the 1820’s. All 3 of her children (all being regular library users) were raised in Salem and her daughter worked at the library while attending college. Linda served on the very first Salem-South Lyon District Library Board of Trustees as its president. She oversaw the building of initial district library building.
